“Surely, there must be someone you want to get out of the way,” Magneto says; Erik spends the next several moments caught by the peculiar gleam in the old, seemingly harmless, man’s eyes and he wonders what will happen in the next several days, if he says Yes, there’s a bastard named Shaw that I want to do away with would you help me with it, and the several weeks after that, telling himself that death is a natural thing, Shaw could’ve easily slipped on soap in the shower and death would’ve just as easily claimed him there, but Erik instead says, “No,” with an amused shake of his head, and Magneto nods, understands, or appears to at the very least, hands him a business card, and for months after that memorable, however brief, train ride, Erik wonders and wonders and wonders until he picks up the phone and, finally, says, “Yes.”

(i’m pretty sure i’m cheating with these run-ons now)
